Privacy Policy

DukaStock is provided by [KenZobe Technologies], We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy, as defined by Kenya's Data Protection Act, 2019.

We only collect what we need to run DukaStock:

• Account details: your full name, phone number and password (stored securely in scrambled form, never as plain text).
• Shop records: your shop details, products, categories, prices, stock levels, sales and purchases.
• Technical information: basic details such as your IP address, browser type and when you log in, which help us keep the service secure and fix problems.

• To create your account and log you in.
• To store your shop records and show you reports like sales, profit and low stock.
• To keep DukaStock secure and prevent misuse.
• To contact you about your account or important changes to the service.
• To understand how DukaStock is used so we can improve it.

We process your information because we need it to provide the service you signed up for, because we have a legitimate interest in keeping DukaStock secure and working well, and, where needed, because you have given your consent. You can withdraw consent at any time.

We never sell your information. We only share it with:

• Trusted service providers who help us run DukaStock, such as hosting and SMS providers. They may only use your information to provide their service to us.
• Authorities, when the law requires it.

If a provider stores data outside Kenya, we make sure it is protected as required by the Data Protection Act.

When you log in, DukaStock saves a login token and your basic profile in your browser's storage so you stay signed in. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. Logging out removes this information from your device.

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete or anonymise your information within a reasonable time, except where the law requires us to keep certain records for longer.

We use measures such as encrypted connections, hashed passwords and access controls so each shop can only see its own records. No online service is completely risk-free, so please keep your login details private. If a breach affects your information, we will notify you and the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner as the law requires.

Under the Data Protection Act, 2019, you have the right to:

• Be told how your information is used.
• Get a copy of the information we hold about you.
• Correct information that is wrong or incomplete.
• Ask us to delete your information.
• Object to certain uses of your information.
• Receive your information in a format you can move to another service.

DukaStock is meant for business owners and is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

We may update this policy as DukaStock grows. When we make important changes, we will let you know in the app or by SMS. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed.
